After seeing the play in Atlanta at the Fox Theater, I couldn't wait to buy the CD. Amazon.com did not disappoint! I bought a mint unopened CD for a fraction of the cost, with no hassle, and fast delivery. I love the music.. I relive the experience every time I listen to the CD.

Two years ago I had the opportunity to attend Mamma Mia on Broadway in NYC with a couple of friends. It was great! Immediately after, we went to a music store and my friend purchased the CD. Driving home from Minneapolis for 4 hours, we put in the CD and sang our heart out. The music is wonderful, the movie is great! I soon purchased my own copy and have all the songs memorized. At our memorial day program this past spring, our friend sang "Thank You for the Music" dedicated to all the fallen comrades and friends and family that had recently passed on. It was very touching. Yes, I love it!

It's about time that we can take in a quality show with great music, outstanding cast AND a full orchestra! We have that and more with the current revival of "South Pacific" and this recording. To hear this orchestra performing Robert Russell Bennett's original orchestrations is alone worth the price of a ticket...and this CD. If you want to hear American Musical Theater at its best, this is the recording to own.

Robin Williams is amazing at stand-up comedy. I don't think I've laughed this hard in a long time. This show is funny from beginning to end. It is definitely for a mature audience only since there is a great deal of foul language and riske topics discussed so I would only recommend this for the 18 and over crowd.
If you are a fan of Robin Williams, stand-up comedy, or just want a good laugh, you should pick up this DVD.

"In the Heights" is an excellent sountrack of Latino Rhtyhm with the Broadway Musical Style, something we were missing to hear on Broadway.
Even if you haven't seen the musical you will love this Soundtrack because the story is just amazing and it is a reflection of current NY society, there is this a mix between Latino and American culture printed all over the Musical filled with Salsa and Merengue.

Seems a bit silly reviewing something so well known but, having the original with Sarah Brightman on vinyl and not playing it I really did want it on CD, beautifully done and a delight to play again. However i do have one big grouch. Each time I put it in my basket I got a message that it could not be sent to my address (In OZ). I wonder why, I even tried a site that said posted from Australia, no go. I only got it from the UK and was charged an exhorbitant price in the end. Certainly nothing like when I buy from USA, so Aussie buyers beware where you purchase from.

The complexity of the score, the fantastic instrumentation/orchestration and the amazing voices make this a must-have addition to a collection. Not just a collection of musical theatre.

I greatly admire Sir Elton John's immense talent and extraordinary body of work. Always been a fan. Also been a Broadway musical buff since I was a wee lad. We saw the movie, and greatly enjoyed it, like almost anyone else who saw it, and now have tix to see Billy Elliot on Bway in late February, when my college freshman-who-dances daughter is on break.
So I got the cast recording and, after one listen, am deeply disappointed. I appreciate these strictly are book songs, with no meaningful context outside the mounted production, but they betray a seeming laziness, certainly by the neophyte lyricist Lee Hall. In sum and substance, they are simple to a fault, with little evidence of a rigorous imagination and intellect at work. Then again, Sondheim has spoiled us forever. He makes it seem as if anybody ...
