The Korg Guitar tuner is simple to use. If you know the basic notes on the 6 strings, you can match up each string to the corret pitch. Also, the directions are easy to understand. I would definetly recommend this product.

The first person on Amazon reviewing the Ion TTUSB Turntable said "he died and went to heaven." "I lived and went to hell." It takes someone with a computer background to figure out the complicated recording system. It is easy to record. Problem is finding what you recorded and a place to store it. I gave this a one star rating because I wasn't allowed to give it a zero-or lower. It took me three hours to record 4 songs. At this rate, I'll have to live until to 180 years old. But I have better things do do with my life than spend the remaining time getting aggrivated. I also hear ION doesn't take to returns. I wonder why. It is a surprise that a class company like Amazon.com would even see a productas bad as this. Live and learn.

Bought it for my son who plays the viola. Has helped him tremendously and he loves the tuning feature. It works great, nice and load but not annoying to others. Definitely worth the cost.

I read a recommendation to buy this tuner on a review for the guitar I bought "Jasmine by Takamine S35" and so I went with it. I didn't know a thing about tuning without a tuner (although I have learned by now) so I figured I'd need it. Even though I know how to tune without a tuner, it's WAY easier to use the tuner. Red lights will tell you sharp or flat. The needle goes up or down as the sound changes so you can see where you are and how far you need to go. Green is when it's perfectly in tune. The best part is how it auto-selects which note: I didn't know the strings for a guitar were EADGBE from thickest to thinnest, but the Korg picked up the right notes automatically and I was in business right away. This is great for traveling to do performances. It folds up easily and is pretty comfortable. I wouldn't want to sit on it for more than a 2 hour period, for sure, but it works really well to do short gigs and practice sessions. Very sturdy, just make sure you have it locked in place. It looks small in the photos, but is actually a pretty decent size for a standard person. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Like many other reviews you read here, I also got a bad unit. I bought it for Christmas 2008. Initially my 9 yr old daughter was very excited, and it lasted for about 3 hours until the thing broke, when of course she (and I) became very disappointed. The speaker and the output sound to the TV both stopped working.
Very poor quality, as I now know first-hand. Even with the bad reviews, I bought it because I didn't see too many alternatives at this price level. Now that I've returned it, I've found the GPX brand, and bought a similar unit to this one. So far, it's working well (more than 3 hours at least).
I would NOT recommend that you purchase this unit.

I've been using this little gem for over 2 hours a day for 3 days now and I am ALREADY a little faster and more coordinated with my drumsticks. Once you give the instructions a quick read it's easy to navigate through what you want to do.
I love the "tap in" feature where you can listen to one of your favorite songs and literally tap a button a few times in a row to find the beat of the song and then set this metronome to play that rhythm. Then within that customized rhythm you can set it do the 1/4 note, 1/8 note or 1/16 note.
I have an electronic drum kit (which does come with a metronome built in to it, but since I don't have it hooked up to a PA speaker, I have to use my headphones to hear the metronome) and sometimes I just want to practice coordination without headphones.
This is PLENTY loud ...

I bought this for my sons to share with their new acoustic guitars. I have a hunch that this would work wonderfully with anything that you could plug into it, but we've had some trouble with tuning the accousic guitars with it.
1 - it only registers the sound about half the time
2 - the instructions are vague when dealing with acoustic guitars
3 - I am no master musician... but when the tuner says it's in tune... ANYONE can tell it is not.
I believe that the problem may just be our unit, and may be in the mic... we don't have any electric guitars around to test my theory on.
